Examining laboratory parameters to determine acute or less severe cases of mucormycosis after contracting covid-19, identifying patients who are at higher risk of mortality, and increasing awareness for proper practice will be useful in improving the clinical situation. So we decided to Investigate Factors Affecting Mortality From mucormycosis After Covid-19 Infection. Methods: This study was a systematic review (Conducted by PRISMA guideline). This study was conducted in Tabriz university of medical sciences in 2022. Results: From examining the results of these studies (15 studies), it was found that mortality was higher in patients hospitalized in ICU and general wards, and a significant difference was observed between the average age of recovered and deceased patients. Having high blood pressure as well as diabetes mellitus also significantly led to an increase in mortality. Conclusion: Hospitalization in the intensive care unit, advanced age, high severity of covid-19, high blood sugar and underlying diseases significantly increase the risk of death due to mucormycosis following covid-19.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to determine the outcome of low PTH after surgery and to monitor parathyroid recovery times in patients who underwent total thyroidectomy. Material and Methods: A commercially available PTH (iPTH) test was used to monitor iPTH levels on days 1 and 4. PTH levels were negative. It is determined by the same blood test as the sCa level. To exclude vitamin D deficiency, we first measured 25-hydroxyvitamin D and 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D levels in all patients Postoperative hypoparathyroidism was defined as postoperative albumin-adjusted sCa levels below 1.9 mmol/L (Convert to mg/dL, divide) with 0.25 (range of use, 2.10-2.60 mmol/L) symptoms of hypocalcemia (response to neuromuscular stress including paresthesias, muscle spasms, tetany or seizures) or sCa levels lower than results (1.9-2.1 mmol/L) with neuromuscular symptoms during the first 4 days after surgery. Results: In a multivariate logistic regression model, we found that patients who received an autograft of parathyroid tissue during surgery were more likely to have low PTH immediately after surgery (OR = 2.6; 95% CI, 1.8-3.8). Additionally, patients with parathyroid tissue who showed negative parathyroid tissue removal on the final pathology report were more likely to have postoperative PTH <10 pg/mL (OR = 2.2; 95% CI, 1.5 -3.3). Parathyroid tissue was the only risk factor for permanent hypoparathyroidism in the pathology report (OR = 3.6, 95% CI, 1.1–11.5). Conclusion: This study suggests that drug therapy should be considered in addition to PTH measurement, as 50% of patients with persistent hypoparathyroidism have elevated PTH levels to ≥10 pg/mL, but still want more help to avoid hypoparathyroidism. Introduction: Most patients experience moderate to severe pain after ankle surgery. Early and appropriate treatment of postoperative pain is essential for effective treatment that leads to preservation of lung function, normal breathing, rehabilitation and prevention of chronic pain. In this retrospective study, we aimed to identify potential predictors of moderate-to-severe postoperative pain in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) in patients undergoing gastric bypass surgery.Material and Methods: In this systematic review VAS/vNRS score of 4-6 is considered moderate, and 7-10 is considered severe. Additional factors investigated included time from ankle fracture to surgery, anesthesia procedure, preoperative anesthesia, medication use and postoperative medication use, classification radiation, bone complexity, surgical technique, and tourniquet operative time.Results: Data from 336 patients who underwent ankle arthroplasty between January 2009 and December 2022 were analyzed. None of the following variables had a significant effect on pain; age, weight, smoking, time from fracture to surgery, type of anesthesia, opioids to control dysfunction, complexity of the fracture, surgical procedure or tourniquet technique increase. Gender predicted moderate to severe pain after PACU by 2 differences.31 (1.39–3.86, P = 0.001). To our knowledge, this is the first study to report gender differences in pain reporting in the hours following joint surgery.Conclusion: Female patients who had surgery for ankle sprains reported higher pain scores in the PACU than men.
